The Freddies started their conference games off with a home game against the Cardington Pirates. In a Battle against a (2-0) Cardington team, freddies come to play, beating the Pirates 70-61 in a close 4th quarter match.
The pirates had a Veteran made team consisting of 11 seniors on varsity and not one lower classman. Fredericktown was off to a hot start, being up 7 in the first quarter. Then, Cardingtons shooting guard got the hot hand and hit 3 three’s in the span of 30 seconds. With Fredericktown over coming the diversity they had been put on, they ended the half up 4.
In the second half, Freddies and Pirates went blow for blow, scoring back in fourth. But with a few stops from the freddies on defense, they started the 4th quarter up 8. They kept the lead still scoring back in fourth until the Pirates could not do anything but foul to try and save them the game. Feddies ended in a strong conference victory for their 3rd win straight.
