Dr. Eric Hansen, a local Fredericktown family physician spoke about careers to the Biomedical Science Class. With a majority of the class wanting to go into the medical field, Dr. Hansen was able to provide students with advice and personal accounts.
Dr. Hansen began by sharing his schooling experience at Case Western University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Dr. Hansen had also played college basketball, so he spoke on how he juggled life while being a student athlete. After graduating from Case Western, Dr. Hansen attended John Hopkins University to finish out medical schooling.
With the Biomedical class being on the smaller side, the experience was able to be more personal. After sharing about himself, Dr. Hansen went around asking each student what they wanted to pursue in their futures. Replies were as follows: nurse, pediatrician, veterinarian, speech pathologist, chiropractor, and more. Hansen shared different pathways and insights for most of the different careers
