Spanish 3 and 4 have started the game “Sobrevivientes” which translates to “Survivors.” The game takes place on the Island of No English. Everyone is split into tribes to compete.
Students face the challenge of never speaking English in the classroom. If English is spoken, students get one warning per week and any further violations will result to “being kicked off the island.” Students will remain off the island until a new round begins.
Students will compete in challenges each week which will earn points for the tribes.
This year, there are three tribes in Spanish 3 and one in Spanish 4. Spanish 3 tribes include Las Vacas Blancas (The White Cows) ran by Micah Phillips and Jada Doerr, Las Naranjas Guapas (The Handsome Oranges) ran by Mikayla Holley and Joey VanSlyke, and Los Deditos Sudorosos (Sweaty Little Fingers) ran by Antonio Rojas and Drew Dumbaugh. The tribe in Spanish 4 is La Reina Gusana (The Queen Worm) ran by Bella Kraus.
Students a part of other Spanish classes, along with teachers can join the fun and vote for a tribe to support.
