In the first round of the tournament bracket, Freddies hosted the Mount Gilead Indians for the second time this season. This was their 3rd time playing against each other, though both teams knew this could be their last game of the year.
At the start of the game, the Freddies came out scoring first, keeping the lead and ending the first quarter winning. The environment was loud and intense, making it hard to hear for the players. At halftime, Coach Dibling lit a fire into the Freddies after only being up a couple of points at that point.
Coming back into the game, both the Mount Gilead and the Fred boys could not stop going bucket for bucket. This kept the score almost the same differential until the 2 minute mark in the 4th quarter.
With the Indians being down 8 points, they needed 3 pointers to catch up to keep their season alive. But with the Freddies defense being strong, the Indians couldn’t hit a shot. So, the Freddies advanced to District-Semis after winning 46-41, moving their record to (18-5) for the season.
