In STEAM, the students got to experience the process of hatching 12 chicken eggs in an incubator. During the incubation process, the incubator had to stay at a critical temperature and humidity to get the best hatchery results.
To check on the growth of the chickens, the students candled the eggs by shining a flashlight on the bottom of the egg. While candling, the students saw growth in the eggs, like veins and the embryo developing.
On March 17th, three of the chicks hatched overnight and then a fourth hatched on the 18th.
