Brandon Hogg, senior, earned 2nd place at the indoor state meet for pole vault. His final height he jumped was 14’10”
Brandon is hoping to have a great outdoor track season by breaking records and winning meets.
Brandon has hit a PR many times for pole vault and gets really hyped up each jump. Pole vault definitely makes Brandon happy and makes him train hard to keep reaching for the next bar height.
“Placing was great. This was my second time going to the state meet after hitting an all time PR last year. The experience is great because of my coaches Bobby G. and Mr. Hartley. Also thanks too, my friends and family for coming to support me.”
A big challenge for Brandon is the nerves before the first bar, which is basically when he psyches himself out of a jump. He overcomes the challenge by just taking a deep breath and remembering how good of a pole vaulter he is.
Brandon is not sure on where he wants to attend college but the two majors that interest him the most are Pre-Vet Medicine and Forensic Biology.
