Elijah Roush is signing to the University of Mount Union for football to play inside linebacker. He wants to be a part of the prestigious program Mount Union offers with their high standards and winning traditions.
Elijah is planning to major in Finance with a minor in Sports Business. He enjoys math, giving a shout out to both Mrs. Herbst and Mr. Synder for that, and claims to have always been good with numbers. He wants to pursue a career that is part of the sports industry while continuing to work with numbers.
Elijah began playing football at a young age, growing to love the sport even more as he got into high school, playing more competitively. He has always enjoyed putting the hard work and dedication it takes to play at a high level. Roush explains this enjoyment by stating, “I think my love for the game, as well as my constant desire to get better and find success, has kept me playing for so long.”
Before every game, Elijah listens to a voicemail from his grandpa and calls his mom. Also, he makes sure to spend time in prayer.
This pregame ritual helped with beating Highland during Week One, which was the highlight of his senior year.
Growing up, Elijah’s favorite football memory would have to be tossing around the ball with his brothers.
Moving into college, Elijah looks forward to being a part of a new culture and making relationships with both his teammates and coaches. He feels blessed to be a part of such an amazing program with all the building blocks to continue to develop as a player and a person.
