
Senior football player Blake Tucker, a 3 year letter winner, has signed with Defiance College to continue his football career. Defiance College football has moved from NCAA Division lll, to NAIA, so his upcoming seasons in a rebuilding program.
Blake is majoring in Civil Engineering. He has always wanted to follow this career path since he was a kid, because he has always liked taking apart and rebuilding things to make them better.
Tucker stated that he started playing football as an acceptable reason to hit someone. Later that meant he could show no mercy on the field.
As Blake progressed through the years, he proceeded onto different levels of play, he says he built character and gave him characteristics for his future, skills he would need to be a great father and great person.
The soon-to-be freshman in college is looking forward most to making new friends from all over the states and maybe some foreign places.
Another thing Blake anticipates involves the football part: watching how other players make each other better and the feeling intensity to hopefully win many games for the program.
Blake Tucker is mainly a Offensive Lineman, protecting his team’s quarterback, as well as rotating in some on the defensive line when needed to get the opposing team’s quarterback.
Blake’s favorite memory of the sport is when he got to play fullback for a few plays, running with the ball up the middle to try to get his team a touchdown.
His favorite memory from Fredericktown’s sports is playing in a mud bowl game his sophomore year, winning the game, and keeping his own quarterback’s jersey fully white and clean.
Blake’s pregame ritual includes listening to music before every game to get locked into a good mindset.
Many of Tucker’s family members have played college sports but never football, so he had his mind set to be the first and get that in the family tree.
