The concert and marching bands came together for a night of awards and celebration. This year, the band tried out a new type of banquet where they alternated playing select pieces and recognising members of the band.
Pink Payne, the 2024- 2025 field commander, was awarded the John Philip Sousa Award. This award is voted on and given to a band student who demonstrates exceptional leadership, accountability, and leadership.
The National Student Marching Award was given to Braelyn O’neil, a current member of the Freddie Flash. This award is given to a student who has contributed in a great capacity to the band.
Cicely Bartsch received this years outstanding percussion ensemble award. The outstanding concert band member this year was Sage Hess. Finally, Olivia Harris was awarded the outstanding marching band member!
Next year’s leadership team consists of Shae Amstutz as Field Commander. Lilly Foster, Alex Farenbaugh, Pilar Payne, and Addy Mickley will be the Dance Commanders. Section Leaders are Pilar Payne, Sam Baker, Lane Dugan, Dominic Holdren, Rylei Schulties, Madi Shade, Isabella Broerman, Ella Flynn, and Evelyn Roush.
