Two days before Christmas, the Fredericktown Freddies played at the Danville Blue Devils stadium, with a close game until the end. Through the first three quarters, Fredericktown was up only 4 points, but when the 4th quarter started, Fredericktown was thriving, out scoring the Blue Devils on every other possession. They pulled the win away with a score of 73-56.
After a long two weeks of not playing any games (Coach Dibling’s longest stretch ever as a coach, while not playing a basketball game), the Freddies hosted the Mount Gilead Indians for their 5th conference game. With a rough start to the game, being tied at half, Fredericktown dug themselves into a hole late in the fourth quarter, being down 9 points with 3 minutes left. The Freddies sparked a light that helped them battle back, hitting clutch three’s and free throws to send the game to Overtime (OT).
At the beginning of OT, it did not look like the Freddies would succeed, with Mount Gilead getting two buckets off quick. But then the Bonus foul shots saved the Freddies and brought them back into the game to win 65-60 for their 5th conference win straight.
