The girls lost a tough one in the district championship Saturday at Ohio Dominican University against Africentric.
Coming into the game the Lady Freddies were heavily overlooked because they were playing the reigning State Champs. The Freddies had a strong first half. Africentric was not going to back down though. Africentric all season has not been in this position and Fredericktown had all the momentum coming into the second half. The 3rd quarter was a back and forth battle. When the 3rd quarter ended, the game was tied at 33.
The 4th quarter was about to begin. This is what the Lady Freddies have been working for all season. All the ups and downs, wins and loses, and battles they have been through have prepared them for this moment.
Unfortunately, Africentric was not backing down. It was a battle to the end.
Sadly, the Freddies lost in a tight game 46-38. The Lady Freddies had an amazing season and they made history. Congratulations to the 24-25 Girls Fredericktown Basketball Team.
