Freddies Extend Win-Streak to 3

The Freddies started off their long weekend on a high note with a 27-20 win against Utica.

Senior Blake Sipes had yet another big game as he broke off for a 59 yard touchdown run as well as a 2 point conversion. Sipes also had 2 passing touchdowns to fellow seniors Gavin Toombs and Brode Davis.

“I couldn’t have done it without the guys around me. They push me to get better every day,” explained Sipes.

As Right Guard, Senior Wyatt Todd started his first game on Varsity this year.

Todd explained how this went: “ I felt accomplished. I felt like all of my hard work throughout the summer had finally paid off.”

Sophomore Kaiden Gibson played a big role in Friday night’s game. Gibson had a huge interception late in the game giving the Freddies the ball back.

“I felt on top of the world!” explained Gibson about the interception.

Lastly, Coach Spitler felt his input to help the team be successful was this: “I think the biggest thing is getting the team to believe in one another and to play for each other. “

In spite of the winning series, Coach Spitler still sees ways the team can improve.

“ I feel we need to clean up our special teams execution and eliminate special team penalties.”

The Freddies look to stay hot as they are going into Cardington to start off KMAC play on a high note.
