After returning from break, the girls’ bowling team first faced East Knox in a home meet. Soon after, they hosted Centerburg for their 2nd game against that team, winning by 400 overall points and performing well in both Bakers and regular games.
The girls’ bowling team went right into a meet after break against East Knox with no prior team practice, which was followed by their game against Centerburg.
“I felt a little nervous because it had been a while since we had all bowled, and it took a little bit of time to knock some rust off,” states Holly Ho
gle, a sophomore on the team.
The team gradually got back into the routine of bowling in the normal game. The girls were 40 Points Behind East Knox before the Baker game. By the end, the girls fought a very close game, losing by 18 points.
“The loss was bad, but that did not make the team lose its morale,” explained junior Mary Lee.
The game against East Knox ended on a positive note for the Girls, as towards the end of the second Baker game, the team added a new cheer to the roster created by Hogle:“With both direction and magnitude, oh yeah!” which heightened the spirits of the team.
The team is doing well, we just need more practice to reach our potential,” explains sophomore Dakota Curtis, who scored a high of 160 against Centerburg.
The girls’ main focus right now is to get better on their Baker games and pick up spares in upcoming games.
