Ella Bouton, senior, signed with Michigan State,” a Division 1 college,” for Track. This is one of the biggest signings in school history.
As a sophomore, Bouton was the state runner-up in her division in shot put. Last year. Bouton placed 6th in the state. Bouton also broke 2 school records for throwing. Bouton broke the girls discus record by 10 feet. Bouton also broke the shotput record by more than 1 foot.
“These records are not going to be broken for a long time. This is a result of Bouton’s dedication to track. She even chooses to run with the sprinters to make herself better,” explained Coach Geiger.
To show how Bouton is a very hardworking athlete, Coach Geiger explained that Ella is one of the last ones to leave practice.
Coach Geiger also described her as quietly confident because she is not a cocky person. Bouton treats her teammates and other people very positively.
Bouton loves to work with the younger track athletes. She enjoys teaching the younger generation how to become better athletes and throwers.
Bouton has a huge desire to succeed which is why she is great at throwing and a state champion.
Bouton participates in three sports: Track, Basketball, and Volleyball. Bouton is a starter in all of them.
