Budd stated “This new engineering course is really going to make an impact on Fredericktown’s high school, allowing it to become a Career Center extension.”
The Grand Opening of the Fredericktown Engineering and Manufacturing Academy was a major success. School board members, local businesses and government officials all praised the work and dedication of FHS teachers. Ryan Shoemaker and Gary Chapman gave powerful speeches promoting the new hands-on education.
Sophomore Reese Hannan explained, “This new Academy will pave the future for generations of well-educated and able-bodied American machinists.”
Junior Anson Wenger is a big PLTW leader who has taken many courses for credits later for college. Wenger had been really pushing to accomplish his goals in PLTW.
“This Grand Opening turned into a huge success, painting a bigger picture for Fredericktown High. This pathway will give Fredericktown and other schools a chance to get college credits before college,” Wenger announced.
