Mrs. Dearth, HS/MS chorus teacher, has chosen to lead the elementary music program since Mrs Overholt is retiring.
For 12 years, the Select Choir, Chorus and MS Choirs enjoyed her energy and dedication that made a creative musical outlet for students’ vocal and choreography talents. Mrs. Dearth started her 24 years of teaching at the elementary school level. During those initial 5 years she knew where she belonged.
Mrs Dearth has always hoped that she would be able to make it back to being the elementary music teacher, whether it took her to another school or this opportunity.
Mrs Dearth ultimately decided to go back to the elementary music program because she says that her daughter is over there and she wants to be closer to her family. That teaching position has less pressure, because while she has to teach, it doesn’t need that level of perfection and seriousness because they are little.
It was a hard decision, but Mrs Dearth says that she is going to miss all the middle and high school plus the staff at those levels.
