Last year, the Intro to Engineering Design students were given the opportunity to design a patio for the public.
Built in front of Brickhouse, the students created multiple design concepts for the fireplace/patio and then 3D designed the patios on their CAD program, Fusion 360. they then made a mockup of the town square on the classroom floor.
Students were able to see their ideas seemed real when their concepts merged into a final design by an outside engineer.
With the help of many people, the design came to life over the summer and fall months.
Their work was recognized in December of 2024 by the Fredericktown Fireplace Committee during a ribbon cutting ceremony.
